Target Coupons Is It a Target or MFQ Coupon? Here’s How to Tell Before You Print...

UPDATE: I wanted to re-post this Target coupon tip because I was SO HAPPY when I discovered it! No more wasting ink to print and have it NOT be a Target coupon! icon wink Is It a Target or MFQ Coupon? Here’s How to Tell Before You Print...

I was so excited when I saw this post on Hip2Save!  I tried to research and find the answer before to no avail!  Have you ever been so frustrated to find a Target coupon online, only to print it and it’s a manufacturer coupon or vice versa?  Well here’s how you can tell what type of coupon it is BEFORE you print it!

1. Go to the Target coupon site and right-click on any Coupon image.

2. Depending on your browser, you’ll look for the following text:

  • Firefox: “View Image” text and a new tab or window will open up with the image in your browser.
  • Chrome: “Copy Image URL” then you will need to paste that image URL into a new web browser.
  • Internet Explorer: “Properties” then a window will pop up showing you the image URL.

3. Look at the html coding at the top of your browser. You will see a long string of text for the image source.  Look closely at the link and you’ll notice that if a coupon is a Target store coupon, it will say “target” in the text.

4, If the coupon is a manufacturer’s coupon, it will look like one of the above pictures and have either the word “manufact” in the HTML OR you may also see the particular manufacturer name in the link instead, like “files.cncdn.co/partners/norelco/….” as seen above.

Awesome information!! Thanks!

A faster and easier way in my opinion is to look at the wording. If it says "with purchase of (insert product name here; for example the organic baby food pouch above)" or if it just lists the name of the product then it is a target coupon. But if it says "when you purchase (insert product name here)" then it is a manufacturers coupon. I learned this from totallytarget.com Some current examples: $1 off Glade air freshening item (target coupon) $1 off when you buy TWO Carnation® Breakfast Essentials™ 10 ct powder or Ready-to-Drink 4 pk (manufacturers coupon) $1 off With purchase of two select Burt's Bees items (target coupon) Long story short if it says "when" then it is a manufacturers coupon and anything else is a target coupon. Hopefully I explained it okay.
